Dr Rhianydd Williams

DR WILLIAMS GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF BRIGHTON AND SUSSEX MEDICAL SCHOOL IN 2008, COMPLETING RADIOLOGY TRAINING BASED AT ST GEORGE’S UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST, LONDON. HIGHER PAEDIATRIC RADIOLOGY TRAINING INCLUDED GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL AND THE EVELINA HOSPITAL, LONDON. APPOINTED AS CONSULTANT PAEDIATRIC RADIOLOGIST AT ST GEORGE’S HOSPITAL 2017, BECOMING LEAD FOR PAEDIATRIC IMAGING IN 2018 AND CARE GROUP LEAD FOR IMAGING IN 2024.

CURRENTLY DR WILLIAMS IS THE TRAINING REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE BSPR AND BOTH AN EDUCATIONAL AND CLINICAL SUPERVISOR FOR PAEDIATRIC RADIOLOGY IMAGING. DR WILLIAMS HAS HELD THE POSITION OF CLINICAL LEAD FOR PROFESSIONAL LEARNING AT THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF RADIOLOGY SINCE 2020. THE TEAM CAN ENTIRELY BLAME HER FOR OFFERING TO HOST THE 2024 MEETING!

Dr Joy Barber

Dr Joy Barber has been a Radiology consultant at St George's Hospital London since 2017, with a special interest in Paediatrics and GI imaging. She is current lead for paediatric imaging at St George’s Hospital.

She leads the skeletal dysplasia, paediatric IBD and paediatric ENT meetings. Joy is one of the department research leads and is principal investigator on NIHR portfolio research studies.

Dr. Susan Shelmerdine

Dr. Susan Shelmerdine is a consultant paediatric radiologist and NIHR post-doctoral academic with research interests in artificial intelligence and post-mortem imaging for children. She is currently the AI Taskforce chair for ESPR, member of the ESR eHealth committee, research lead for BSPR, research lead for the South West London AI Group and also member of the RCR academic and AI working groups.

Dr Thomas Davies

Tom is a Consultant Paediatric Diagnostic Radiologist at St George’s Hospital. His interests include MSK and head and neck as well as general paediatrics.

He underwent core medical training prior to commencing radiology training at the Peninsula scheme in the South West of England. As part of his training, he undertook a subspecialty fellowship in paediatric diagnostic radiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

He is interested in training up the next generation of radiologists. He is an educational and clinical supervisor and provides teaching sessions for the trainees both with in radiology and within the wider medical specialties including A and E and paediatrics.

DR JOHN ADU​

John is a Consultant Paediatric Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist at St George’s Hospital. His interests include chest imaging, trauma and intervention.

He underwent surgical training prior to commencing Radiology training at the Barts and the London scheme. Following this, he undertook two subspecialty fellowships in paediatric diagnostic radiology and paediatric interventional radiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

He is an enthusiastic educator and is the current RCR/BSPR Travelling Professor. He is involved in delivering undergraduate and post graduate radiology training locally, nationally and internationally.

Dr Myriam Guessoum

Myriam is the newest member of the St George’s paediatric radiology consultant team and has a special interest in GI and MSK.
She completed core surgical training in Nottingham before finding her passion for radiology, training at St George’s with a year of subspecialty experience at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She runs the paediatric orthopaedic group and regularly leads the paediatric radiology meeting.

Dr Emily Ashworth

Emily is a final year paediatric radiology trainee at Great Ormond Street Hospital and is also spending time at the Evelina Hospital. She undertook three years of paediatric training in the East of England before moving into radiology where she started out at St George’s Hospital.

She has an interest in paediatric chest radiology as well as in research. She is currently a research fellow working in the field of Artificial Intelligence in paediatrics.

Mr Stephen Jarvis

Stephen is the clinical lead Sonographer at St George's Hospital and has been for the last 5 years. He is a radiographer by background and completed his ultrasound training in Australia before moving to the UK.

He has a special interest in Paediatric and Musculoskeletal imaging, plus ultrasound training and education. He has been instrumental at improving our DDH service and our paediatric US small bowel service at St George's.

Ticket prices have been kept low to make the conference accessible to as many as possible. We are offering full ticket prices for 2 days at only £200 for Members of the BSPR if you register by 30th September ( Single day £120). For trainee Radiologists, Radiographers, other allied health professionals, students and retired non practising radiologists the fee is only £50. There is no requirement for those in the concession category to be members of the BSPR.


For Consultants and non trainee radiologists who are not members of the BSPR the fee is £250. Please note this cost is the same as the conference and BSPR membership. We would recommend joining the BSPR to qualify for the above reduced rate. Provided you have applied for membership before the conference you are eligible for the reduced rate.Please ensure you include the email address which you have used for membership at registration as this is cross referenced prior to the meeting.


After 30th September the costs rise by £20 for a full ticket and £10 for concessions.


Please ensure you bring your bar coded ticket in paper format or preferably on your phone to allow us to check you in on the day. We look forward to seeing you!!
